One of the advantages to be being a wedding caterer is that you sometimes get to join the celebrations multiple times. Sometimes there is catering needed for the proposal itself, which we at Hog Roast Horsham have done before in coordination with one of half of the loving couple. Then there is the celebrations needed for the engagement party, where everyone just gets to party and eat without the high pressure of the wedding day itself. Then sometimes we’ll be on hand to cater for stag and hen dos, sometimes the rehearsal dinners the night before the wedding, and then of course the special day itself where our catering really goes all out. But we still leave just a little behind for our post-wedding brunches, just for those occasions where the bride and groom’s parties perhaps also went a little too “all out”.
Last week it was an engagement party that the Hog Roast Horsham team were out catering at. Often the first step when we work with bride and grooms-to-be. It lets us show off our skills and quality in a less demanding event and the bride and groom also get a good sample of what to expect, should they then go on to pick us for their special day.
This was a very fun engagement party to cater for. Held at the happy couple’s house where they have a massive garden to play around in, we set up our hog roast in the afternoon to cook into the evening. The weather played along just long enough for us to cook and serve our delicious hog roast which went down a storm. The more exciting part for our team, however, was the emergence of the DJ armed with a tonne of headsets so that the party could enjoy a silent disco for the night’s festivities. We just love the idea of a silent disco. It lets folk continue on their conversations while others get to boogie and dance the night away to their own rhythm. We’re only a little jealous that we didn’t get to join in more as the Hog Roast Horsham team packed up and left the party to it. From what we hear, disco did go on well into the night!
