Last weekend, our Hog Roast West Sussex team had the joy of catering a beautiful christening for baby Macy, a warm, family-filled celebration set in a charming village hall decorated with pastel balloons, soft florals, and plenty of smiles. The family wanted the food to feel comforting, traditional, and generous, and nothing suits that brief better than our signature slow-roasted hog roast.
While guests arrived and greeted one another, the aroma of our hog, roasted low and slow for hours, welcomed them inside. There’s something about that golden crackling and tender meat that instantly sets the tone for a relaxed, homely gathering. Parents, grandparents, godparents, and excited little ones gathered around as our chef carved the hog fresh from the roasting machine.
We served plates piled high with succulent pork, perfectly crisp crackling, our much-loved homemade sage & onion stuffing, and traditional apple sauce, the kind that balances sweetness and sharpness to complement the roast beautifully. Guests were free to return for seconds (and many did!), enjoying the unhurried buffet style that allowed everyone to mingle, chat, and savour the occasion.
It was especially lovely to see how pleased Macy’s family were that the catering felt both special and stress-free. While the adults enjoyed hearty portions, the children delighted in freshly baked rolls packed with pork and apple sauce, the unofficial favourite of the afternoon!
Catering for Macy’s christening was an honour, and we were thrilled to help make the day feel warm, memorable, and full of flavour. Here’s to baby Macy and many more celebrations to come for this wonderful family.
