It sounds odd, doesn’t it? That you could enjoy Hog Roast Selsey this month. while still completing your Veganuary. Based on our name alone, the two things would sound completely at odds with each other. And for the most part, they entirely would be…where it not for our incredible range of vegan and vegetarian options for your event catering!
While it is true that we are largely a roast meat specialist, we have a lot of care and love for our vegan and vegetarian guests. Part of our goal with catering is to serve everyone and ensure that every guest comes away satisfied, so of course we take the time and care to also put as much effort as we put into our signature meat roasts as we do our veggie alternatives!
One such brilliant dish is our BBQ pulled jackfruit. Our namesake hog roast is renowned for its tenderness and flavour. With that dish, we cook for hours throughout the day in a unique roasting style. With our jackfruit, we do more or less the exact same. We make sure to marinate our jackfruit for hours and then slowly simmered it in much the same process as you would find with our beef or pork roasts. That means all of the flavour still comes out in the dish and the jackfruit goes lovely and tender making it perfect for pulling. The result is a texture, taste, and look that is not all too dissimilar from our signature hog roast – only it is all entirely vegan!

We may be Hog Roast Selsey in name, but we are equally as committed to supplying plenty of flavour and brilliance to our veggie friendly dishes, too.
